Storing sustainable energy
To use sustainably generated energy as efficiently as possible, we use battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Energy storage makes it possible to use green electricity as efficiently as possible and relieve stress on the electricity grid. This makes us less dependent on fossil fuels, while saving on energy costs.
Consumers like households and businesses get a kind of buffer from BESS; stored energy can be used when there is no wind or the sun is not shining. Consumers can also stock up on additional electricity at cheap times and avoid expensive electricity consumption.
BESS can be connected to wind or solar farms, and also installed as standalone solutions. Battery projects are usually built near transmission or distribution lines.

Batteries are important for the reliability and stability of a sustainable electricity system. The flexibility created by battery systems makes them crucial for the energy transition in Belgium and the Netherlands.
